Bor8Rods: Wood Preservation and Protection
Bor8 Rods – a highly potent solution to combat decay fungi, termites, the silent culprits behind strength deterioration and potential structural failure in untreated wood.
Usage Guidelines:
To effectively employ Bor8 Rods, consult your Preservation Plan and follow these three simple steps:
- Drill: Drill appropriately sized holes to accommodate the predetermined number and size of Bor8 Rods needed.
- Insert: Place the suitable size and number of Bor8 Rods into the drilled holes.
- Seal: Seal the holes using a treated wooden dowel, wood filler, or caulk.
Ensure the drilled holes are 1/16 inch larger in diameter than the preservative rods for a snug fit, facilitating optimal diffusion in all directions. Maintain a minimum 1/8-inch headspace between Bor8 Rods and the hole plug to allow for expansion. Following installation, if desired, apply paint or any other surface coating to the wood.
For strategic placement, install Bor8 Rods in areas prone to decay or where decay already exists. Insert the rods through any wood surface, utilizing a staggered, linear, or angled pattern based on accessibility. Begin 6 inches from a joint or the wood's end, covering the entire affected length. Ensure linear spacing along the grain does not exceed 15 inches on center, and spacing across the grain does not exceed 6 inches on center.
